The Black Gem Collection (3 variants in total) is inspired by the rare black gemstones that hide deep beneath the soil and waters of the West Indies — where the very essence of rum was first awakened. Our master distiller has followed in the footsteps of Albert Heinrich Riise on a quest to create a series of extraordinary blends based on the finest casks. Each cask is hand-picked, carefully evaluated, and blended to create something exceptional. The result is a collection of outstanding luxury blends tapped in a limited number of beautiful black bottles. Unique blends that can never be recreated. The first Black Gem release in the collection is Black Coral. Black Coral has an alcohol strength of 45,8% and was released in May 2024.

Subtle but alluring scent of dried fruit, high esters followed by fresh hay.
Goût
Soft umami from oak envelops a sensation of roasted hazelnuts, dried stone fruit, and a very light hint of tobacco.
Finale
Long lingering taste of oak and gentle tannins. Dried fruit peel and volatile spices.

Found deep in the waters
Black Coral is a rare type of coral that can be found deep in the waters that surround the West Indies and Central America. It is a product of the fertile environment that also provides nourishment and minerals to the sugarcanes used in our ‘Black Gem Collection’. Black Coral is valued for its unique color and elegant appearance. When properly polished black coral can achieve a beautiful shine and luster. Just like a glass Black Coral served in a shiny tulip glass. Each batch, each bottle – a unique gem, marked with a number to state its singularity and rareness. Black Coral is available in a limited quantity of 5,990 numbered bottles in 8 batches.
The Black Gem Collection
The Collection consists of exquisite blends that capture the very soul of the beautiful West Indies: Black Coral, Black Larimar, and Black Spinel. Each batch, each bottle, is a unique gem, marked with a number to state its singularity and rareness.
The last blend – Black Spinel – was released in the spring of 2025.
