Taste Old St. Croix

Building on last year’s great success, Old St. Croix (formerly A.H. Riise) returns this year as sponsor of “Around Funen for Preservation-Worthy Ships” — one of Denmark’s largest summer events, running from 19–24 July, during which 50 magnificent heritage sailing vessels will once again circle the island of Funen.

Albert Heinrich Riise was born on Ærø in the South Funen archipelago, so we look forward to a historic reunion with the beautiful landscapes of southern Funen.

As sponsor, the Old St. Croix experience this year goes beyond the glass — join us each afternoon from 1 PM to 7 PM at our cozy harbor receptions, where we’ll be serving tastings of our award-winning blends and our latest release, Orange Grove, at:

Old St. Croix Royal Danish Navy - Naval Cadet was created in collaboration with the Cadet Association of the Royal Danish Naval Academy – the world’s oldest naval officer school, founded in 1701.

Navy Frogman

Old St. Croix Royal Danish Navy - Frogman was created as a tribute to the Danish Frogman Corps – an elite unit whose courage and strength help secure the safety we often take for granted.

Navy Strength

Throughout history, spirits and seafaring have gone hand in hand—along with a fair share of trickery and dilution. To ensure quality, sailors came up with a simple test: they poured the spirit onto gunpowder and lit it.

Navy Bitter

A tasteful Bitter with the taste of gentian root, quinine, bitter orange, coffee beans and a touch of vanilla.

XO Legacy Reserve

150 years ago, Danish pharmacist and adventurer Albert Heinrich Riise introduced spirits from the West Indies to the world under the name Old St. Croix – a tribute to the lush Caribbean island of St. Croix, renowned for its sugarcane cultivation.

175 Years Anniversary

In 2013, we marked 175 years since Danish pharmacist Albert Heinrich Riise first opened his Apothecary Hall on Saint Thomas in the Danish West Indies.
