The Non Plus Ultra series continues its winning streak. Non Plus Ultra Ambre d’Or Excellence has been awarded a gold medal at ISW Meininger’s International Spirits Award 2026 – one of the established annual competitions on the international spirits calendar.
Now in its 22nd year, the competition brought together an international panel of spirits experts in Neustadt an der Weinstraße, Germany. Nearly 900 spirits were assessed, with a total of 268 medals awarded across the categories. Ambre d’Or Excellence received Gold in this extensive field.
Why a blind tasting matters
At the ISW, the products are tasted blind. The judges assess what is in the glass without being influenced by the bottle, label, brand name or price. This places the focus entirely on the sensory experience and allows the spirits to be evaluated as impartially as possible.
The judging panel consists of experienced professionals from the international spirits industry. A medal is therefore more than a personal recommendation from a single reviewer. It reflects a shared assessment by specialists who compare a large number of products under controlled conditions.
