A New Taste Dimension in the Old St. Croix Universe
Previous
Get in the Christmas moodOld St. Croix is known for its sweet, full-bodied style of sugarcane-based spirits. Over the years, the distinctive, round and approachable taste has earned us a loyal following of consumers who appreciate craftsmanship and Caribbean warmth in every glass.
Now, we are adding a new taste dimension to our range with our very first orange liqueur – a fresh, light and sun-kissed interpretation of Caribbean flavor traditions.
Why an Orange Liqueur?
For some time, we’ve wanted to complement our molasses-based blends with a lighter and more fruit-driven profile – and since the cultivation of oranges is historically linked to our West Indian heritage, it was the natural place to begin.
While our classic blends feature rich notes of caramel, vanilla and spice, orange liqueur offers a profile that is brighter, lighter and more vibrant. Where rum and sugarcane blends are often associated with ”after dinner – slow enjoyment”, orange liqueur has a more social and uplifting character – fresh, lively and perfect before dinner. It holds a broader, immediate appeal – both as a refined digestif and as an ingredient in cocktails – ideal for those who seek a fresh and fruity taste with depth and balance.
The name Orange Grove comes from a historic area on St. Croix, where orange groves and sugarcane once grew side by side under the Caribbean sun. In the 19th century, the island’s oranges were renowned for their exquisite quality – thanks to the stable climate, gentle trade winds and fertile soil.
With Orange Grove, we honour that tradition. The liqueur is crafted from oranges of equally high quality sourced from the Caribbean and Central America, carrying its name as a loving tribute to the island’s fruitful past.
Old St. Croix 1838 Bitter offers the perfect balance of sweetness, bitterness, and warmth. Crafted with carefully selected extracts from spices and herbs, it delivers a complex and flavorful bitter with true character.
