Old St. Croix triumphs at International Taste Institute

Non Plus Ultra Very Rare and Non Plus Ultra La Galante honoured with a superior taste award.

Global Gold

Three-Star Awards for Very Rare & La Galante

We are pleased to share that two of our most distinguished blends – Non Plus Ultra Very Rare and La Galante – have been awarded three stars by the International Taste Institute.

Tasted blind by a jury of chefs and sommeliers, both blends were evaluated across five criteria: aroma, taste, texture, balance, and overall impression. Only products achieving an average score above 90% receive the institute’s highest rating.

For us, the award is more than a mark of excellence. It’s a recognition of the time, care, and craft that goes into each bottle.

A Reflection of Craftsmanship
The Non Plus Ultra series stands as a culmination of our blending philosophy at Old St. Croix. Created from carefully selected casks sourced from respected distilleries across the Caribbean and Central America, each expression represents a different take on balance and depth.

Very Rare is structured and layered, with notes of dried fruits, spice, and oak. La Galante is more delicate — marked by sweetness, warmth, and a long, rounded finish. These are not everyday blends. They are intended for moments that deserve something special.

Recognition Based on Taste Alone

The Superior Taste Award is internationally regarded for its independence and methodology. Products are judged without labels, stories, or branding—only taste. The fact that both Very Rare and La Galante achieved the top rating under such conditions speaks to their integrity as blends, and to the quiet confidence behind the Old St. Croix name.
