150 years ago, Danish pharmacist and adventurer Albert Heinrich Riise introduced spirits from the West Indies to the world under the name Old St. Croix – a tribute to the lush Caribbean island of St. Croix, renowned for its sugarcane cultivation. Today, we revive the Old St. Croix name and introduce this historic brand in more than 30 countries where our blends are enjoyed and appreciated. Old St. Croix XO Reserve - Legacy is the first blend to carry this reborn name. Released as a Limited Edition, it is a modern tribute to the original Old St. Croix blend and the historic trademark that will be carried by all our future products.

Nose

Velvety toffee and sun-ripened fruits with a touch of late summer breeze.

Taste

Distinct umami notes from oak, rich tobacco, and aged leather. The sweetness recalls caramelized figs and glazed citrus zest.

Finish

Long and enveloping, with echoes of mature oak and dried orchard fruits.

To honor Albert Heinrich Riise’s legacy and craftsmanship, our Master Distiller has carefully selected the finest casks from respected distilleries in the West Indies and Central America. The result is a rich, complex and velvety-smooth blend that takes you on a journey through time.

The Gold medal in 1893

Old St. Croix XO Reserve is inspired by the original Old St. Croix blend, which received a gold medal at the World’s Fair in Chicago, held in honor of the 400th anniversary of Columbus’ voyage.

Old St. Croix Tom Collins

- 6 cl Old St. Croix XO Legacy Reserve
- Juice of 1 lime or ½ lemon
- 1 teaspoon sugar (or 1/2 cl sugar syrup)
- Sprite

Add the sugar and citrus juice to a tumbler or highball glass and stir until the sugar is dissolved. Add Old St. Croix and ice cubes. Top with Sprite and stir gently once. Garnish with a thin slice of lime or lemon on the rim of the glass.

Old St. Croix Daiquiri

- 4–5 cl Old St. Croix XO Legacy Reserve
- Juice of ½ lime
- 1 teaspoon sugar (or 1/2 cl sugar syrup)

Add ice into a shaker. Add Old St. Croix Legacy, lime juice, and sugar into the shaker. Shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds until the drink is well chilled and the sugar is dissolved. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a thin slice of lime or a twist of lime peel on the rim of the glass.

- 6 cl Old St. Croix XO Legacy Reserve
- 1.5 cl pineapple juice
- Juice of ½ lemon
- 2 teaspoons sugar (or 1 cl sugar syrup)

Use a shaker and shake with Ice
Strain into a glas with Ice
Garnish with a thin slice of lemon, lime, or pineapple

175 Years Anniversary

In 2013, we marked 175 years since Danish pharmacist Albert Heinrich Riise first opened his Apothecary Hall on Saint Thomas in the Danish West Indies.

In the late 1800s, a special friendship bloomed in the Danish West Indies—between two young men: the future King Haakon VII of Norway and Valdemar Riise, son of pharmacist Albert Heinrich Riise.
