The book-shaped 24 Experiences box is filled with samples of some of the most exclusive and delicious rum blends found in our extensive range. 24 unique bottles spanning fantastic and exciting taste experiences. When the book is opened, the 24 doors are revealed, each hiding unique 2cl blends as well as the story behind the Non Plus Ultra series and the perilous journey Christopher Columbus embarked on aboard the magnificent ship La Galante.
The 24 samples in this box represent a historical journey into Old St. Croix's world of taste, from award-winning blends and new co-labs.
Christopher Columbus discovered the West Indies on his voyage to the New World in 1493. With him, he brought sugarcane for sugar cultivation. For two hundred years, sugar was the main commodity in the West Indies, but not the only one. It soon became apparent that the by-product molasses could be used for distillation of a sweet, aromatic alcohol. Many years later – in 1838 – a young pharmacist named Albert Heinrich Riise traveled to the West Indies. Here, he produced, among other things, rum with molasses. It is this story we honor, and that is why the heart of our blends is still distilled from molasses. The ideal gift for the rum enthusiast – and the perfect Christmas calendar for those who can wait that long!
