Old St. Croix CollectorsEach year, Old St. Croix Spirits awards an educational grant to a member of the Riise Family. In 2024, A.H. Riise and Wife’s Family Scholarship was awarded to Jacob Stenbak Helweg-Larsen, who recently completed a semester project on transportation and urban mobility. The grant enabled Jacob to travel to Prague to study the city’s infrastructure and sustainability compared to developments in Copenhagen. “I have gained deeper insight into the complexity of public transport and the challenges that come with creating sustainable infrastructure. I am very grateful for the opportunity to participate in the trip and to be able to implement these experiences in our project,” says Jacob.
Old St. Croix Spirits collaborates with the board of directors of A.H. Riise and Wife’s Family Scholarship on digitizing the comprehensive family archive so that it can benefit the public. In addition, we financially support a number of scholarships that will be awarded to family members in education.
In 2013, we marked 175 years since Danish pharmacist Albert Heinrich Riise first opened his Apothecary Hall on Saint Thomas in the Danish West Indies.
