Non Plus Ultra Very Rare and 1888 Copenhagen Medal XO Reserve Honored with ISW Gold Award.
The awards continue
Yet another award
Old St. Croix continues to uphold its legacy of excellence in the world of rum-based spirits, as two of our most popular blends, Non-Plus Ultra Very Rare and 1888 Copenhagen XO Reserve, have been awarded the coveted ISW Gold Award by the renowned Meininger’s International Spirits Award organization. This prestigious recognition was granted by a jury of over 200 professional taste experts, all members of the world’s most esteemed chef and sommelier associations.
1888 Copenhagen Medal – Still going strong
1888 Copenhagen XO Reserve is a modern interpretation of the rum for which Albert Heinrich Riise received a medal at the grand Nordic Exhibition in Copenhagen in 1888, where he exhibited at the West Indies pavilion. Today, 136 years later, professionals still celebrate the amber drops, appreciating its mild oak scent, notes of orange, warm spices, and dried fruit. The ISW judges awarded 1888 Copenhagen XO Reserve high marks across the board for its visual appeal, aroma, and taste.
Very Rare continues its winning streak
In contrast to the historic 1888 Copenhagen blend, Very Rare is a relatively new addition to the Old St. Croix family. This exclusive blend, part of the esteemed Non Plus Ultra series, has garnered numerous awards in recent years. Most recently, Very Rare was awarded gold at the Tokyo Whisky & Spirits Competition 2023 (TWSC).
