A Tribute to the Original Blend

Old St. Croix Legacy is more than just a bottle of golden liquid. It’s a modern interpretation of the iconic Old St. Croix blend, first launched over 150 years ago. Now, it returns to mark the transition from A.H. Riise to Old St. Croix.

Originally created by visionary Danish pharmacist Albert Heinrich Riise in the late 19th century, the Old St. Croix name was used to bring the taste of the West Indies to the wider world. With this relaunch, XO Reserve Legacy marks both a return to those roots – and the beginning of a new chapter.

Presented in a striking retro-style bottle inspired by the original Old St. Croix Dark Rum, this limited edition captures the essence of the past – and the expectations of today’s premium spirits connoisseurs. The blend is crafted from double-distilled, extra-aged casks sourced from renowned distilleries in the West Indies and Central America. Curated by the Old St. Croix Master Distiller, Legacy delivers a rounded and refined taste profile with warmth, depth and character.

“Legacy isn’t just a nod to the past – it’s a way of carrying it forward,” says Jonas Nilsson, International Marketing and Brand Manager at Old St. Croix. “With this release, we honor the spirit of Albert Heinrich Riise while embracing the expectations of today’s connoisseurs. It’s a blend crafted for those who value heritage, authenticity, and Caribbean craftsmanship at its finest.”

Old St. Croix XO Reserve Legacy is classified as a Superior Spirit Drink. It will be released globally in 30,000 numbered bottles starting June 13, at selected premium retailers.

A Legend Reborn

Old St. Croix Legacy is a modern interpretation of the original Old St. Croix blend, created to mark our transition from A.H. Riise to Old St. Croix.

150 years ago, Danish pharmacist and adventurer Albert Heinrich Riise introduced spirits from the West Indies to the world under the name Old St. Croix – a tribute to the lush Caribbean island of St. Croix, renowned for its sugarcane cultivation.
