Returning to Old St. Croix’s West Indian roots
Old St. Croix Spirits has entered into a partnership with the travel and tourism agency Atlantic Link, working to raise awareness about the Danish West Indies.
Old St. Croix 1838 Orange Grove is inspired by the historic area of Orange Grove on the island of St. Croix, where orange groves and sugarcane once grew side by side under the Caribbean sun. This liqueur continues a local tradition of flavor and craftsmanship. Soft, sweet notes of orange are balanced with a touch of acidity and gentle warmth – an elegant flavor profile that is neither overly sweet nor intrusive. A quiet tribute to the island’s fertile soil and its long tradition of transforming nature’s raw bounty into something extraordinary. Orange Grove can be enjoyed neat, over ice – or as a refined, aromatic component in classic cocktails with orange liqueur, such as the Margarita, Cosmopolitan, or Mai Tai.

Old St. Croix Orange Grove is matured in oak casks, which add complexity and elegant notes of vanilla, toasted wood, and brown sugar – all brought together in a rich, well-rounded flavor profile. Sun-ripened oranges meet warm citrus oils and fine spices in a harmonious composition that balances sweetness, freshness, and depth.
For centuries, the fragrance and taste of sun-ripened oranges have been closely tied to the Caribbean. Orange Grove is a tribute to this gentle, warm climate and to the remarkable fruits that, with their aroma and natural sweetness, give the liqueur its distinctive, warm orange character with a tropical touch.

With the name change from A.H. Riise to Old St. Croix, we’re taking one step back – to take two steps forward. With the new name, we’re reviving the original vision that inspired Albert Heinrich Riise more than 150 years ago, when he made Danish West Indian rum known far beyond the shores of the islands.
