Old St. Croix Royal Danish Navy

Navy Frogman

60% vol.

Old St. Croix Royal Danish Navy - Frogman was created as a tribute to the Danish Frogman Corps – an elite unit whose courage and strength help secure the safety we often take for granted. With every sip, you support the veteran organization Conventus Ranae (Latin for “a gathering of frogs”) – a community that fosters camaraderie among active and former frogmen. By the end of 2024, sales had generated more than €181,000 for this important cause.

Power, depth and character

Just like the extraordinary people it honors, Royal Danish Navy Frogman “Conventus Ranae” is a blend of power, depth, and character. Bottled at 60% ABV – a symbolic nod to the 60th anniversary of the Frogman Corps – it highlights complexity while keeping the sweetness elegantly in the background. A slow fermentation process precedes distillation, followed by aging in carefully selected oak casks to create a rich, balanced, and full-bodied profile.

The Frogman Corps -
An elite unit for the few

Although the Danish Frogman Corps has existed since 1957, only a select few have completed the demanding training – among them King Frederik X of Denmark, who joined the elite unit under the Royal Danish Navy in 1995 as Crown Prince.

Something remarkable

At Old St. Croix, we greatly respect those who keep the society safe on land and at sea.

“We are delighted to hand over a check to the Frogman Corps’ veterans’ fund, Conventus Ranae. This fund supports former elite soldiers transitioning to civilian life after service. The donation comes from the sale of Old St. Croix Navy Frogman. A heartfelt thank you to all Old St. Croix fans who made this donation possible through their purchases!” says CEO, Michael Bielefeldt.

Old St. Croix – Honoring the Past, embracing the future

With the name change from A.H. Riise to Old St. Croix, we’re taking one step back – to take two steps forward. With the new name, we’re reviving the original vision that inspired Albert Heinrich Riise more than 150 years ago, when he made Danish West Indian rum known far beyond the shores of the islands.
