Old St. Croix XO Reserve

Ambre d`Or

42% vol.

“Ambre d’Or” means “golden amber” – a nod to both the radiant hue and the luxurious quality of this exclusive blend. The name also honors the French tradition of crafting exquisite, sweet wines. XO Reserve Ambre d’Or is aged in oak casks that once held rich dessert wines. As the blend matures, it absorbs the deep, layered nuances from the casks, developing a sweetness, depth, and complexity that only time – and these very special barrels – can bring.

Warm, Aromatic and Seductive

Ambre d’Or is inspired by the original recipes of Albert Heinrich Riise and crafted from hand-selected, extra-aged, double-distilled casks from renowned distilleries in the West Indies and Central America. The style is warm, aromatic, and seductive – the perfect choice for those who appreciate a soft, sweet, and character-rich taste experience.

Color like Caribbean Amber

Caribbean amber is treasured for its remarkable clarity and beauty. Like the amber found in Scandinavia, it is fossilized tree resin – but Caribbean amber is often even more transparent. Ambre d’Or, meaning “golden amber,” is a tribute to this unique quality.

Old St. Croix –
A piece of Danish rum-history

150 years ago, A.H. Riise put Danish rum from the West Indies on the world map under the trademark “Old St. Croix”. The island of St. Croix – The Garden of the West Indies – was the center of cultivation of sugarcane and the production of sugar in the Danish West Indies from the early 1700s. The by-product molasses was used to make rum. To this day, the heart of our blends continues to be distilled on molasses.
