The Black Gem Collection (3 variants in total) is inspired by the rare black gemstones that hide deep beneath the soil and waters of the West Indies — where the very essence of rum was first awakened. When creating a A.H. Riise bottle, we use rum from a wide variety of casks, all with different ages and origins. However, not all casks are emptied to the last drop. Often there is a little left in the cask. A small amount of amazing rum. Our master distiller has followed in the footsteps of Albert Heinrich Riise on a quest to create a series of extraordinary blends based on these casks. Each cask is hand-picked, carefully evaluated, and blended to create something exceptional. The result is a collection of outstanding luxury blends tapped in a limited number of beautiful black bottles. Black Larimar has an alcohol strength of 45.2% and is available in a limited quantity of 5.955 unique bottles that can never be recreated. Exquisite blends, that capture the very soul of the beautiful West Indies. Released 31st of January 2025.
Notes
Nez
Powerful nose, initially orange peel, followed by honey sweetness and soft vanilla.
Goût
Initially spicy orange peel, a “dark” flavor, lightly tingling spearmint, all embraced by old-fashioned vanilla drops. Behind it all, subdued but distinct oak.
Finale
Age and oak become more intense, orange oil lingers, discreet leather notes emerge.

Found deep in the ground
The Black Larimar is a gemstone that can be found deep in the ground of the West Indies and Central America. The same fertile soil that also provides nourishment and minerals to the sugarcanes used in our ‘Black Gem Collection’. Besides its obvious beauty, the Black Larimar is believed to calm the mind and facilitate clear communication, both in terms of expressing oneself and listening to others. A state of mind reminiscent of the pleasure of enjoying a glass of Black Larimar in the company of good friends.

The Collection consists of exquisite blends that capture the very soul of the beautiful West Indies: Black Coral, Black Larimar, and Black Spinel. Each batch, each bottle, is a unique gem, marked with a number to state its singularity and rareness.
